Castle Appiano (Hocheppan)
Archery and medieval flair
The medieval castle of "Hocheppan" towers over Appiano above steep rock faces and is particularly famous for its romantic chapel and frescoes. Traditional delicacies are also served in the castle tavern. The 3D archery course is a special highlight that you should not miss. You can rent the equipment directly at the castle.

Fabulous view from the castle tower
Boymont Castle can be visited in conjunction with Castle d'Appiano and Castle Corba during the castle hike. The castle tower offers a fantastic view of the entire Adige Valley, Oltradige and Bolzano. The simple castle tavern offers traditional dishes and a relaxed atmosphere.

Trauttmansdorff Castle in Merano, once the holiday residence of Empress Sissi, now houses the Provincial Museum of Tourism. The botanical gardens of Trauttmansdorff Castle are particularly worth seeing and well known. They extend over 12 hectares and are definitely worth a visit at any time of the year!

Experience birds and owls up close
South Tyrol Museum of Cultural and Regional History. The castle that gave the province of Tyrol its name describes the history of the province of Tyrol from its beginnings to the present day. Right next to it is the "Pflegezentrum für Vogelfauna Schloss Tirol" (Centre for the Care of Birds), where regular flight demonstrations are held.
