The cuisine of South Tyrol
But, will there be food?
Italian-Mediterranean cuisine meets Alpine culinary art. South Tyrol's cuisine takes the best of both worlds. Dumplings, noodles and spaetzle meet spaghetti, ravioli and risotti. This variety is what makes South Tyrol's cuisine special.
Culinary delights guaranteed.

The fifth season in South Tyrol
Törggelen
Chestnuts, wine & "Krapfen"
As soon as the grapes are harvested, the fifth season begins in South Tyrol: it´s "Törggele" time. This includes leisurely autumn hikes through golden vineyards, chestnut groves, picturesque villages and mixed forests, as well as a very special culinary treat: "Törggelen". From the beginning of October to the end of November, numerous wine taverns and inns open their farmhouse parlours. Typical "Törggele" delicacies include homemade "Schlutzkrapfen", dumplings, salted meat and homemade sausegas with sauerkraut, "Krapfen" (typical sweet doughnuts) and roasted chestnuts. This is served with grape must and young wine. We are happy to recommend you typical inns in our surroundings that invite you to a real "Törggelen". In addition, we also organise a weekly farmers' evening at the Hotel Sigmundskron in autumn, where we serve typical "Törggele" dishes.
